OpenGov

OpenGov will aggregate and organize legislation and legislative context at the local, state, and federal levels. Legislative context - in this instance - refers to newspaper articles, bill summaries/briefs, legislative research, vetted blogs, and trusted multimedia sources that will provide information on the impacts of the legislation. Users will also have the ability to interact with the legislation through facebook and tagging features.

Right now we are assembling a local prototype that will focus on the Pittsburgh Region (Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and the State of Pennsylvania). During the first stage of building we will focus primarily on the search tool. Once we have developed the search function we will begin adding the interactive features.

Right now we are looking to interested developers to help with the prototype. Please let me know if you have any ideas, comments, questions, concerns, or are interested in helping. You can leave a comment or e-mail me at rrockett@andrew.cmu.edu
