Obesity is perhaps the most pressing of all American health concerns. Try to name another illness or condition that a quarter of the entire population has.

No progress will ever be made in rectifying the obesity epidemic if individuals do not understand how their communities compare to other communities and which contributing factors their community can improve upon.

Using Tableau Public (a free online tool) and HHS Community Health Data I have created this app in the hope that it will allow anyone with internet access to see how their community compares to their state and the nation as a whole. The best part is that the entire workbook can be downloaded and edited in Tableau Public (all free, etc); users can create their own take on the data!
