Description

About the Application

Explore the relative chronic health risks, hazard levels and toxic release volumes across the country as reported by the EPA Toxic Release Inventory. Maps for America combines population, toxic chemical release reports, and chemical toxicity into easy to navigate maps. Select Health Risks, Toxic Hazards or Weight and search, click and zoom in to discover more.

Maps for America presents the latest Risk Screening Environmental Indicators in an easy to understand and interactive map format. The Risk-Screening Environmental Indicators (RSEI) is a computer-based screening tool developed by the EPA that analyzes risk factors to put the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) into a chronic health context. Maps for America combines results from this tool with EPA Facilities, Toxic Release Inventory, Census Boundaries, and the EPA EnviroFacts Warehouse to bring a comprehensive view of the toxic chemical risks in your state, county and neighborhood. Use Maps for America to reveal toxic releases near you, determine emergency response readiness and lobby to improve the environment.
